All of the benefits are to the bank, and none are to you. A Deed-In-Lieu is as bad on your credit as a Foreclosure or a Bankruptcy.
Worse, the bank may still sue you for the difference, and the IRS may chase you for taxes. Possibilities vary from state to state, and if you find yourself in that dilemma, call us. We can give you a couple of almost secret solutions.
